SU Celebrates 101st Spring Commencement May 20-21
SALISBURY, MD---黑料论坛 celebrates traditions of the past and creates new ones during its 101st Spring Commencement, Wednesday-Thursday, May 20-21.
M.S.W. student Ruth Jean-Pierre of Hagerstown, MD, serves as the student graduate commencement speaker as 279 students receive their master’s and doctoral degrees Wednesday evening at Maggs Physical Activities Center.
Jean-Pierre is joined by guest speaker Jake Day, Maryland secretary of housing and community development.
The next morning, Emma Wivell of Rocky Ridge, MD, who receives her B.S. in international business, serves as SU’s undergraduate student commencement speaker. Wivell is joined by guest speaker Catie Griggs, president of business operations for the Baltimore Orioles.
University System of Maryland (USM) Regent Anwer Hasan offers greetings on behalf of the USM Board of Regents at both ceremonies.
Among undergraduates, 1,485 students receive the Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts. Some 268 receive master’s degrees. 11 receive doctoral degrees.
Admission to Commencement is by ticket only. The University has issued a traffic advisory for areas in the vicinity of campus in advance of both ceremonies.
